Heather Creevan Named Executive Director
Nebraska Recycling Council (NRC) welcomes Heather Creevan as the new Executive Director, announced during the 2019 Awards Luncheon and Workshops on October 4, 2019.
Serving most recently as Deputy Director for NRC, Heather has been an integral part of this organization since before the merger of WasteCap Nebraska and Nebraska State Recycling Association to become the Nebraska Recycling Council in 2017. Looking back at the milestones NRC has accomplished since the merger and especially looking toward the future is exciting for Heather.
“It is truly an honor to be the incoming Executive Director,” says Heather. “We have been working hard to lay the foundation of the organization and I am excited to take NRC to the next level. I am 100% dedicated to making a seamless transition, meeting the strategic plan goals, fundraising goals and advocacy goals based on our mission. I look forward to building on our statewide relationships through our fieldwork and services. I am eager to continue building our membership and providing opportunities for the members that we currently serve. My vision is to make NRC the one stop shop for your recycling needs and to provide assistance and resources to the entire state of Nebraska as is at the heart of our mission.”
NRC will miss former Executive Director Julie Diegel as she retires this year. Julie has been a great leader, dedicated, passionate, and caring. It has been a pleasure to work with her.
As Julie passes the torch to Heather as Executive Director, she says, “No one works harder than Heather, no one cares more about crossing the finish line on time, no one knows every detail of this organization better than she does. Heather will be a phenomenal leader to take the Nebraska Recycling Council to the next level.”Congratulations, Heather Creevan, Nebraska Recycling Council Executive Director!
