Meet Leah, NRC’s Program Manager and newest staff member!

Leah Meyer joined the Nebraska Recycling Council this January and is committed to supporting all Nebraska communities in utilizing their resources and providing value to its residents. Leah is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Master of Public Administration program, focusing on supporting the operation of local governments. She is energized by working with local leaders and residents in meeting their goals in sustainably managing materials. Leah is a board member with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and loves learning about and promoting the health of native Nebraska habitats.
In the year ahead, Leah will manage the hub and spoke recycling project, which received funding through the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s Waste Reduction and Recycling Grant. This program is in its third year, having been developed in Central and Northeast Nebraska in years prior. She will also support the office-wide Litter Reduction and Recycling programs. She is looking forward to working with the Southeast villages, towns, and cities to create efficiencies and value in managing our resources. See more on the Hub and Spoke program on our website!
