Does your community or organization need financial assistance to purchase recycling bins, totes, balers, trailers, loaders or other recycling equipment?
Nebraska Recycling Council (NRC) received $292,800 from the Nebraska Environmental Trust for its “Recycling Equipment Grant” program. The program has been administered by NRC for nearly 15 years, and has added significantly to the recycling capacity in Nebraska, particularly in rural communities. The Trust Board announced funding for the project at its meeting on April 6, 2017 in Lincoln.
Recycling Equipment Grants are small, quick turn-around grants, limited to $15,000 each. A rolling deadline for applications is the 15th of each month. Municipalities and other government entities, schools, non-profit and for-profit organizations with recycling programs are eligible to apply. Grant funds may be used for new and used equipment, such as recycling trailers, balers, carts, forklifts, skid loaders, dumpsters, recycling bins, and more. A grant application is located on the Nebraska Recycling Council web site, www.nrcne.org/equipment-grants
