NRC RECEIVES WASTE REDUCTION AND RECYCLING INCENTIVE GRANT (WRR GRANT) FROM THE NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY (NEDEE)

Published July 02, 2019
Announced by NEDEE in June, the Nebraska Recycling Council was awarded a WRR Grant that will fund a six-month project to build a community toolkit containing resources useful to rural municipalities. It will contain best practices in resource recovery systems, funding information for recycling programs, case studies, waste characterization methodologies, sample ordinances, analysis and decision-making tools. The purpose is to assist elected leaders, solid waste management professionals, and environmental advocates with achieving more cost-effective waste diversion systems in their community and region. In addition, NRC will continue its field work in northeast and north-central Nebraska counties to help establish hub and spoke systems and other beneficial systems for resource recovery.
