Rescue & Reuse: a recycling/rehome event for durable medical equipment. Flower people in a power wheelchair, bed and hoyer lift

By Allison Majerus

We are hosting two Rescue & Reuse events (durable medical equipment collection/rehome events) this summer in Lincoln and Scottsbluff! The objective of these events is twofold: 1) recycle/rehome durable medical equipment diverting it from the landfill and 2) assist persons with disabilities and their families by providing an accessible and cost-effective option to recycle/rehome.

  • Drop-off equipment you no longer need or use from July 22-26 at the Assistive Technology Partnership, 2301 NW 12th Street, Lincoln, NE
  • Attend the Disability Pride Event  at Antelope Park on July 27 and find equipment to take home

Scottsbluff: 3912 Avenue B building, Regional West Health Services complex

  • Drop-off equipment you no longer need or use from August 8-9
  • Come to our Rehome event August 10 and find equipment to take home

We will collect equipment like manual wheelchairs, powerchairs, walkers, and lifts, diverting them from the landfill and assisting the local community. We will host events in Kearney and Omaha in Spring 2025.

If you have questions, please reach out to Program Director Allison Majerus at [email protected].

We’d like to thank the Nebraska Environmental Trust for their grant support of this program. We are also thankful for our program partners!
