Southeast Nebraska Hub & Spoke Update

Published September 01, 2020

For three years, NRC has been working throughout Nebraska reviewing access to recycling and resource management for rural communities and determining potential for increased recycling access through hub and spoke models. With a grant from the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy, NRC has developed a report of current services and identified areas of potential to increase recycling resources. This year, NRC worked with municipalities in 20 counties in the southeast region speaking with municipal officials on their current strengths and challenges.

Please read through the attached report for our findings. Recycling in the region is changing at a rapid pace and we are updating information as it is reported to us. We look forward to continuing our work in this region, sharing best practices, and strategizing with communities on improving and increasing recycling access and infrastructure.
